How to visit the SMIALA terminal in Chorula — and what you will find there
Seeing an operation in person resolves questions that no brochure or video can answer. Logistics managers want to see the loading bays. Quality auditors want to see the batch control system. Procurement teams want to see the warehouse capacity. SMIALA welcomes all of them.
W skrócie
The SMIALA terminal is at ul. Kościelna 9, Chorula — 4 km from the A4 Gogolin exit, between Opole and Krapkowice. Site visits are available by appointment: informal logistics visits in 24 hours, formal quality audits with 5 business days notice. The PHS Magnum silo trailer service facility is at the same address — international visitors can evaluate both operations in one trip.

What you will see
Warehouse
The 2,000 big-bag warehouse is an enclosed, dry, temperature-ambient building. During a visit, we walk through the storage zones and explain:
- How batch zones are assigned and labelled
- How FIFO rotation is tracked
- How big-bags from different producers (LG Chem, Borealis, Synthos, Orlen) are physically separated
- How damaged big-bags are identified and quarantined
If your company requires specific storage conditions beyond ambient (temperature-controlled, sealed zones), we discuss this during the visit.
Loading bays
The 4 gravity loading bays are the operational core of SMIALA. During a visit:
- We demonstrate a loading cycle if one is scheduled (or explain the procedure)
- You see the loading frame, hoist point and the silo trailer position
- We explain the weighing procedure (individual bag + truck scale)
- We show the transloading protocol being generated
If you have questions about specific big-bag formats (discharge valve types, liner configurations, big-bag weights) or specific silo trailer models (Spitzer SF series, ~50–60 m³ variants), bring them to the visit.
Documentation room
The documentation room is where transloading protocols, CMRs and warehouse records are generated and archived. You will see:
- The software used for transloading protocol generation
- How documents are referenced (intake number → protocol → CMR chain)
- Archive organisation (5-year minimum retention)
- How digital copies are issued to clients
Silo cleaning station
The dry-air silo cleaning station is available for inspection. We explain the cleaning procedure and show the certificate format. If your material requires specific cleaning standards between grades, this is the right moment to discuss compatibility.
After the visit: next steps
Most visits end with one of three outcomes:
Option 1 — Place a first order
You have seen enough to proceed. We send the service confirmation, agree on a booking procedure for the first container and align documentation formats.
Option 2 — Formal supplier qualification
You need to complete your company’s supplier qualification process first. We provide the ISO 9001:2015 certificate, complete your questionnaire and schedule a follow-up call with your quality team.
Option 3 — Framework agreement discussion
Your volumes are regular and you want to formalise the relationship. We begin the framework agreement process — capacity reservation, service levels, documentation standards.
There is no commitment required during or after a visit. SMIALA’s role is to show you the operation and answer your questions; the decision is yours.
