How do you get a transloading quote from SMIALA in 3 steps?
The process from first contact to confirmed loading slot takes less than 24 hours in most cases. Here is exactly what to provide, what we assess, and what you receive in return.
W skrócie
SMIALA responds to quote requests within 2 business hours. Provide material type, volume (big-bags or tonnes), origin port and preferred date — we confirm slot availability and service scope. For regular importers, framework agreements with reserved weekly capacity and fixed service levels are available. Call +48 664 135 005 or email biuro@magnumchorula.pl.
Step 1: Send your request — what to include
Contact SMIALA by phone (+48 664 135 005) or email (biuro@magnumchorula.pl). Include:
Required information:
- Material: PE or PP grade name (e.g. LG Chem LLDPE 1820H, Borealis BorStar HE3490LS)
- Volume: number of big-bags or tonnes per shipment
- Origin port: Hamburg, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Rotterdam, or Rail Silk Road (Małaszewicze)
- Preferred date: specific date or date range (minimum 48 h advance notice for standard bookings)
Helpful additional information:
- Container size: 20-foot, 40-foot standard, 40-foot High Cube
- Big-bag format: standard 1-tonne, discharge valve type (butterfly, drawstring, spout)
- Destination: city or factory location for the silo trailer delivery
- Delivery frequency: one-off, weekly, monthly cycle
- Documentation requirements: ERP format, specific certificate templates
If this is your first contact with SMIALA, briefly describe your import cycle — where material originates, what volumes you move monthly, what factories you supply. This helps us propose the right service structure from the start.
Step 2: SMIALA assesses and responds
Within 2 business hours of receiving your request, we assess:
Capacity: Is the requested date available? Our 200 t/day capacity is typically sufficient for standard orders; larger volumes or multiple simultaneous containers may require advance scheduling.
Material compatibility: Do we have experience with this grade? Are there any specific handling requirements (moisture sensitivity, contamination concerns, temperature)?
Documentation: Does the receiving factory have specific documentation requirements? Are there customs or REACH compliance considerations?
Logistics coordination: If you are shipping via a freight forwarder, we verify that we can coordinate directly on container timing.
Our response includes:
- Confirmation of slot availability for the requested date
- Service scope (transloading only, or including warehousing, silo cleaning)
- Documentation to be issued
- Contact for your freight forwarder
- Next steps to confirm the booking
Step 3: Confirm and coordinate
To confirm a booking, we need:
- Written confirmation (email is sufficient) of the agreed date and volume
- CMR or delivery note for the container (can be sent up to 24 h before arrival)
- Material specification or CoA reference number (for first-time materials)
- Silo trailer details (if you are arranging transport) or confirmation that SMIALA should arrange a trailer through the PHS Magnum fleet
Once confirmed, SMIALA assigns:
- An intake number (appears on all documents for this shipment)
- A warehouse zone (if buffering before loading)
- A loading slot (bay and time window)
We send you the intake confirmation by email. This is the document your logistics team uses to track the shipment through the terminal.
For regular importers: framework agreements
If your volume is regular — for example, 2–4 containers per week, or a consistent monthly volume — SMIALA offers framework agreements that simplify the ordering process:
What a framework agreement includes:
- Reserved weekly time windows (e.g. Tuesday and Thursday loadings guaranteed)
- Agreed service scope and documentation standards
- Dedicated warehouse zone for your material
- Agreed lead time from container arrival to silo trailer dispatch
- Quarterly volume review meetings
How to set up a framework agreement:
- Send your annual volume estimate (tonnes, frequency, origins, destinations)
- We propose a service structure and terms
- A site visit is recommended before signing (we welcome logistics managers and quality teams)
- Agreement is signed; operations begin
Contact biuro@magnumchorula.pl with subject “Framework agreement inquiry” and your volume estimate.
What happens on the day of container arrival
- Gate arrival (any time during operating hours): Container truck arrives; SMIALA gate staff verifies CMR and entry permission
- Truck scale (15 min): Gross weight recorded; intake number assigned
- Container unloading (30–90 min depending on size): Forklift unloads big-bags to warehouse or loading bay
- Loading (1–3 hours): Silo trailer loaded bay by bay; individual bag weights recorded
- Gate departure (15 min): Net weight on truck scale; transloading protocol issued; driver receives documentation
Total time from container arrival to loaded trailer departed: typically 4–6 hours for a 40-foot High Cube container loaded to one silo trailer. Multiple trailers or buffered storage extends the timeline — discuss your scenario when booking.
