Visit SMIALA Terminal – How to Schedule and What to Expect

Transloading granulate from big-bags to a silo trailer

At a Glance

A site visit to SMIALA terminal in Chorula near Opole typically takes 2–3 hours and covers the warehouse, transloading station, weighbridge, and fleet. For prospective clients from Korea, China, Germany, or Austria making a logistics qualification decision, seeing the terminal in person answers questions that no brochure can: is the facility clean and organised, does the staff understand quality procedures, are the silo trailers in good condition? SMIALA welcomes visits from clients and partners by appointment.

Before the visit — what to prepare

A productive site visit requires some preparation on both sides. Before scheduling, consider:

What is the purpose of your visit?

  • Initial familiarisation (general overview, first impression)
  • Formal supplier qualification (audit-style, checklist-based)
  • Technical discussion (specific operational or documentation questions)
  • Management relationship visit (senior team introduction)

Different purposes require different preparation. A formal audit visit needs at least one week of advance notice; an initial familiarisation visit can often be arranged within a few days.

Who should come from your side?

  • Logistics/operations manager: to assess operational capabilities
  • Quality/compliance manager: to review ISO 9001 documentation and procedures
  • Procurement lead: to discuss pricing and cooperation terms
